What does sun sign, moon sign, and ascendent mean?

I’ve listened people speak about these a small bit. we know which my object is in Taurus, as we was innate in mid-May. But how only does Taurus being your object pointer start your personality? What is a moon sign, as well as what does it arrange of "control?" Same subject with a ascendent.
By a way, I’m asking all this theoretically. :p we do not utterly hold in Astrology, I’m only curious.

Your Sun sign represents you inside. It’s your personality, although other factors in your ‘Chart’(All your birth info and what signs they are in) make up your personality.
Your Moon sign represents your emotions. How you deal with them, handle them, how you feel. You can be an Aquarius Sun, but with a Canceran moon, you can be very emotional.
Your Rising/Ascendant is the sign that was on the horizon at the time of your birth. It is how others view you, your ‘shell’ to the outside world, what others think you are. It also contributes to how you act, and your personality.
The planet placements are determined by what ‘area’ of sign the planet was in when you were born. So Venus in Gemini means that Venus was in the sign of Gemini when you were born.

this is a big question, but i am going to give you a very simplified answer.
The Sun is the essence of who you are. Everything else in the chart must bow to the Sun, to a point. Although other planets’ positions indicate other traits, they all must be considered under the parameters of the Sun sign. So as an example, perhaps I might find you are a quick acting person… and so I say to myself, quick acting for a Taurus. Now if you had the same traits as an Aries, it would mean something a little different, because Aries is already naturally quick to act.
The Moon is your inner self, how you feel & process your emotions, your deepest recesses of your heart. It is the second most important planet in astrology. (We know the sun & moon are not planets, but we call them that for ease of communication.) If you have a Cancer Moon, you have ready access to your feelings. If you have a Taurus Moon, you may be slow to process your feelings. And on and on…
The Rising Sign is your face to the world, how the world sees you and how you filter the way you see the world.
