How important is the Descendant sign in determining compatibility?

For example, we have a Cancer successor (Capricorn rising) as well as my father has a Scorpio successor (Taurus rising).

My Descendent is Libra… I know Im either a Taurus rising or an Aries, but I am always attracted to Librans, and I happen to attract them a lot more than Scorpio’s.

A descendant? I’ve only heard of ascendant, but by what you described it’s the opposite? Maybe it’s opposites attract?

7th house indicates what kind of a relationship you want and even how you would do when it comes to trusting someone. with cancer descendant, you would just "feel" you can trust or not. if not, no any logical arguments from the other end will be convincing. and the relationship you want would be a very sensitive, touchy feely, lovey dovey one. soul unison kinda stuff.
scorpio is pretty much the same with above, only more intense, more obsessive.
you both have earth risings so i would say you guys wouldn’t be as emotional outside home. you would think that’s unneccesary, too transparent. it’s for us what we have and only for us.
it’s as compatible as it gets then.
